Solar Cold-Chain Infrastructure

A lack of reliable refrigeration leads to devastating post-harvest losses for rural farmers. We are deploying industrial, off-grid, solar-powered cold storage units directly to local cooperatives. This renewable energy solution extends the shelf life of agricultural yields, increases market value, and provides essential food security for the region.

Community-Led Vocational Training

True empowerment comes from skill-building. Our permanent hub hosts comprehensive training programs designed to foster economic independence:

• Manual Bakery Training: Equipping community members with the skills to produce and sell baked goods locally.
• Agricultural Development: Teaching sustainable farming practices tailored to the regional climate.
• Aquaponics Integration: Pioneering modern, water-efficient farming systems that combine aquaculture and hydroponics to maximize nutritional output.

Digital Community Hubs

True sustainability requires accurate tracking and accountability. We are establishing digital community hubs equipped with offline-first digital ledgers and comprehensive data tracking platforms. By deploying securely managed field tools, we empower local leaders to seamlessly manage community transactions and measure program impact, ensuring transparency and continuous growth even in areas with limited internet connectivity.

Vocational Bakery & Nutritional Training Hub

Operating as a premier skilling center within our four-acre community development site in the Namayingo District, the Vocational Bakery & Nutritional Training Hub equips local residents with hands-on expertise in commercial baking and production.

Designed with a strict focus on climate-smart sustainability and high hygienic standards, the facility utilizes off-grid, manual infrastructure to formulate high-nutritional products. This fully integrated approach ensures that we are actively addressing regional food security while fostering lasting economic independence and micro-enterprise opportunities for our trainees.

Expanding Our Reach

The Busia Agricultural Campus

Through a generous five-acre land donation, the Mercy of God Mission is actively expanding our footprint into Busia.

This new site is being developed into a comprehensive, sustainable agricultural training campus. Featuring diversified livestock management—including poultry, dairy, and swine—alongside staple crop cultivation like cassava, millet, and cabbage, the campus serves as both a vital food source and a hands-on learning hub.

By integrating modern farming techniques with our off-grid solar infrastructure to prevent post-harvest loss, we are equipping local cooperatives with the tools, training, and resources they need to achieve total food security and long-term economic independence.
